SHSRC supports strengthening of community processes and comprehensive primary health care to ensure equitable access to essential health services. This mandate focuses on community engagement, health promotion, preventive care, and strengthening primary health care systems including sub-centres, PHCs, and CHCs to improve health outcomes.
This mandate area focuses on economic analysis and financial planning to support efficient allocation and utilization of health resources. SHSRC undertakes cost analysis, budget planning, financial monitoring, and economic evaluations to inform policy decisions and improve financial sustainability of public health programs.
The Public Health mandate supports disease prevention, surveillance, and health system strengthening to address population health needs. The State Innovation Hub serves as a center of excellence for identifying, validating, and scaling up innovative healthcare solutions within Maharashtra's public health system. The hub fosters a culture of innovation by supporting grassroots innovations, piloting new technologies, and facilitating knowledge management and dissemination. Key focus areas include digital health solutions, low-cost medical devices, process innovations in service delivery, and telemedicine applications. The hub works collaboratively with various stakeholders to promote evidence-based innovations that can improve health outcomes and system efficiency.
The Responsive Mandate enables SHSRC to address emerging and urgent requirements of the Public Health Department and National Health Mission that fall outside the core mandate areas. This flexible mandate allows SHSRC to respond quickly to new challenges, policy initiatives, and special projects as identified by the department.
