The State Innovation Hub at the State Health Systems Resource Centre (SHSRC), Maharashtra functions for identifying, validating, and scaling up innovative and good replicable practices within the public health system. The Hub aims to foster a culture of innovation across districts and programmes, with a focus on improving service delivery, efficiency, and health outcomes, particularly in priority areas such as maternal and child health.
The State Innovation Hub was established at SHSRC, Pune. The Hub provides a structured mechanism to capture field-level innovations, assess their effectiveness, and support their replication and scale-up across Maharashtra. The Health Technology Assessment (HTA) Wing is being established at SHSRC, Maharashtra to institutionalize a standardized, evidence-based, and transparent mechanism for the evaluation, adoption, and optimal utilization of healthcare technologies in Maharashtra.
The Wing will systematically review healthcare technology proposals received from district, circle, state, and national-level agencies and institutions, ensuring that technology adoption aligns with public health priorities and delivers maximum value to the health system. It will identify and prioritize HTA topics relevant to Maharashtra’s specific health needs and coordinate with HTAIn Resource Hub, Resource Centres, and NHSRC for conducting HTA studies and ensuring policy alignment.
Additionally, the HTA Wing will assess the financial implicaƟons, cost-effectiveness, feasibility, scalability, replicability, and ecosystem readiness of proposed technologies, in collaboration with ICMR resource units, to support informed, sustainable, and evidence- driven decision-making in the State
